The New Apple iPad

Here comes the release of Apple’s brand-new tablet product, the iPad. Appearing similar to the iPod Touch / iPhones, it just differs in its size. Most apparently is its home button below, its touch screen display. This very significant button appears on the iPod Touch, iPhone 2G, 3G and 3GS and now the iPad.

Weight and size (in diameter) : 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thin.
Connectivity features : Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G.

Sure, the new processor by Apple, the Apple A4, powers it.

Push aside all the other gadgets – phones, Smartphones, MP3 Players, PCs and digital cameras, here comes the modern age of Tablet PCs. No, they aren’t phones, but there aren’t any keyboards, touch screens instead. It is provided with processors as highly efficient as our normal PCs, yet even more movable than laptops or Netbooks.

Separate from its tech specs and sleek design, it has its effect on the economy too. For a single month’s income for Apple, $250 million was collected from sales, 70% of which is from the app developers – mostly private freelancers. Surprising? This shows a successful market and a new industry for freelance programmers to work on. Will it be like the revolutionary iPhone app store? Obviously.
